The new record in world’s shortest man

June 12th, Guinness World Record officials officially announced that the man in the Philippines named Junrey Balawing successfully won the title of world’s shortest man in his 18 birthday.

18-year-old Junrey Balawing in the Philippines accept the certificate from the Guinness world record on his birthday that day who was 59.93cm tall , he became the shortest man in the world.


Balawing lives in the remote town of the southern Philippines, who came from a poor locksmith family. His parents and neighbors were overjoyed when they learned that Balawing became the shortest man in the world.

Guinness World Record officials said that they didn’t expect Balawing’s character so active, he persisted and kept laughing, and looks was not too distressed by his height.

According to media reports, Balawing actually has a form of dwarfism, growth retardation, he walked with unsteady steps yet, cannot stand too long.

Guinness World Records officials checked Balawing’s height is 59.69cm, this is 7cm shorter than the former record holder Nepal’s Khagendra Thapa Magar, 67.056cm tall.

Balawing celebrated his 18 birthday.
